What to say about Central Otago? It is one of those places that has much to offer,
be it summer or winter. There are many lakes in the beautiful surrounds of the
Southern Alps, and many skifields too (said to be amongst the best in the country,
if not the Southern Hemisphere).
Many a summer has been spent lakeside in Wanaka, just kicking back and relaxing, and usually taking in some of the activities on offer here, and in surronding areas. Most the townships in "central" were founded in the goldrush days, giving a richness of history as well as beauty. Additionally, central is a great place to just stop off at an orchard, and pick up very fresh fruit from the roadsides stores.
